My First Jewellery making class :)

A lots happened since i wrote my last blog. If you haven't read it.... it's a lil dramatic, but totally expresses how i was feeling at the time. Anyway I've re-read it a lot trying to take in my own words of inspiration, and i think it maybe working......Finally I'm feeling happier and more focused :) I have decided that I really am going to put my all into learning how to make jewellery and hopefully it will pay off, and who knows I may even be able to make a career out of it in the future...

Yay!!! to feeling focused and motivated.

Focus on your long-term goal and good things will happen

A few weeks back all the emails and phone calls i made finally paid off and i received an email from Anastasia Beads in Barry, Cardiff who booked me on a beginners course, i was so happy i was finally going to experience my first class :))

My books arrived too!!! so I made my self busy ordering supplies and new tools.... and now they have have also arrived and I've taken over the dining table, and I'm using it as my work space.... i cant say my parents are too pleased but their supportive none the less. Luckily for me :) although peace and quiet isn't easy to get.

Jewellery making books - Beading, Wire, and Metal Clay. I'm currently looking into metal clay introductory classes, and have found an evening class in Cardiff, I hope I will be able to attend in the next few months.

New tools and supplies, ordering beads is not easy on line, for future project I will definitely be visiting a bead shop.

Taking over the dinning room ooppsy :-S

Saturday 2nd of March i had my first experience of a jewellery making class.

I loved it. It was in a lovely bead shop in Barry, I was a lil nervous silly i know, but the owners were very welcoming and made me feel at ease. I loved seeing and being able to touch and choose the beads i wanted to use after being inspired by their designs that they sold in their shop. Mothers Day was coming up so i decided I wanted to make something for my Mum. I thoroughly enjoyed the short class and cant wait to go on my next one.

Bracelet and earnings set for my Mum for Mothers Day. I was soo soo tempted to keep it for my self. I love the turquoise heart beads. http://anastasiabeads.co.uk/

My mum has freakishly small wrists, so as much as she loved it, i had to remove two of the beads and a few of the charms so that i could make it smaller, and if I'm honest i think it looks better :)) I'm so glad she liked it, a perfect mothers day present don't you think!?

I was feeling very excited and inspired after taking the class and turned to the books I had bought to start practising the step by step instructions from the 'Wire Jewelry Masterclass' book by Abby Hook. I'm really enjoying it and having fun, I just wish I had more time to practise and learn, and more money for classes/courses, which id love to take all over the world :)........ So far this is what Ive done.

Last weekend I went out with friends for lunch and a few drinks so I treated my self to the most amazing playsuit from Top Shop, i fell in love with it, but resisted buying it at first. But I couldn't stop thinking about it and a week later just had to rush out after work to buy it, it was calling me.... hehe!! I also wanted new jewellery to go with my new purchase so decided if i had time I would make my own. and that's what I did and it turned out well....

The playsuit :) Gorgeous right!? Couldn't find a pic but the one i bought was all black

I loved the feeling of wearing something i had made!!

Mothering Sunday I visited a Vintage Fair in Cardiff, I really didn't know what to expect as I hadn't been to one before, but I have to say I loved it an am planning on visiting the next one. Seeing so many people selling their Jewellery made me want to do it more!! I love vintage inspired jewellery, it was really hard to resist buying, but I have to remember i have 5weeks in America to save for.... not long now 136 Sleeps :-D

The next one is on Sun 21st Apr '2013 - Cardiff City Hall www.TheVintageFair.com

My new motto is......

Hehe... awesome right?

Hope you all have a fantastic week, and weekend..... and please remember to live simply, dream big, be grateful, give love, and laugh lots!

Thank you, thank you, thank you <3
